For their second vinyl release, Dubs Alive Records presents a massive cut from J. Robinson WhoDemSound. Building the foundation with pumping bass and drums, the A-side “I am at Peace” rolls with a subtle momentum influenced by the UK Steppas feel. The tune is defined by it’s memorable melody, which sings among the cleanly orchestrated harmonic elements, sweeping sirens, and tasteful effects. On the flip “I am at War,” Robinson pushes the rhythm section even harder , expressing the darker edges of the beat with a dancefloor ready Dub mix version, tapes and springs included.
Brought in a 7” format to accentuate the riddim and dub’s ability to flex the soundsystem, this record seamlessly blends the energy and aesthetic of classic Reggae beats with the modern sensibilities necessary to take Dubwise music into the future.
